Volunteer At The Museum
Put your special talents and enthusiasm for motorcycleing's history to work at the
National Motorcycle Museum. You'll be part of the program whether it's airing up the
tires on a 1911 Flying Merkel or hanging a painting by a great artist. Hours and times
are flexible but it helps to know when you'll be in so we can have projects ready for you.
Here are some examples of some on-site projects you can be part of:
- Installing special exhibits
- Cataloging/sorting collections material
- Dusting, airing up tires on historic bikes
- Touring school groups through the Museum
- Writing labels for displayed objects and motorcycles
Work An Event
Several times a year the Museum hosts large events. Exhibits are dedicated, specialized
motorcycle clubs organize meets and other special events take place. With each event the
work force needs to expand to:
- Produce Mailings
- Set up chairs, tables and decorations
- Register Guests
- Keep the Museum secure, exhibits safe
- Tear down and clean up
Offsite Events
Several times a year the Museum sets up a promotional display at large events. Typically
we renew friendships with Museum supporters and explain to those not familiar with the
Museum just what we are about. And we may be selling some posters, raffle tickets as well
as t-shirts and caps.
If you like to "meet and greet" and have time to work with us, you can be a big help.
Typically we are in Daytona Beach for Bike Week, at Sturgis, South Dakota for the Rally,
display at several AMCA meets and set up at a few International Motorcycle Shows. Hit the
